30 keyword tools for you to choose from

When looking through my logs today, I found this great article listing 30 different keyword tools, both free and paid, with short descriptions. This is an excellent resource to discover new tools that you may have never heard about before.

I've some tools that I will try to review a little more in-depth in the coming days.

By the way, my little keyword bookmarklet is mentioned - thanks!

Wordtracker - 1-day subscription plan dropped

I am not quite sure when exactly it happened, but it seems that Wordtracker has dropped its 1–day subscription plan.

This plan, in fact, offered you full three days of access to the Wordtracker database for as little as $8. It was great value for money – you could do very extensive research and save it for later use. Perhaps, this plan turned out to be too good, taking customers away from more profitable plans (weekly, monthly and yearly).

This may come as a rather unfortunate news for some because now, you have to shell out at least $27 to use this service. On the other hand, this may actually be beneficial to more business-oriented niche marketers. $27 is still a very little investment, but it should stop at least some people from competing against you for every possible term found in the Wordtracker database.

Fast Fact Review: Keyword Results Analyzer

Magnifying_smallWith this post, I am starting a new series of reviews of different products, both free and commercial, which may help you on your way to conquering the niche markets. If you want your product reviewed, please contact me via the contact form (link in the upper-right hand corner).

Because you’re reading this blog, it’s highly probable that you’re involved in a never-ending race for better keywords and SERPs. Therefore, I am also sure that you would appreciate any tool that could accelerate this process, while also making it immensely more powerful and fruitful. Today, it’s my pleasure to review one of such tools – Keyword Results Analyzer.

Hot new niche forum and blog

Here’s a quick tip – if you’re seriously into niche marketing, you should really visit the new Niche Marketing blog and the new niche category at the well-known and respected 5 Star Forums. Judging from the quality of the previous Linda’s (the owner) work, I’m sure that these new ventures will be very succesful and helpful to all niche marketers.

Google Analytics video tutorials

I've not yet discussed analytics here, but if you're serious about any of your niche websites, it's then essential to know where your traffic is coming from and how it's converting.

One of the best and free solutions available is Google Analytics. It's probably more powerful than any other free analytics solution you may find (actually, it's based on the Urchin analytics system that used to be offered commercially before Google acquired it).

However, the problem is that it may be somewhat overwhelming for the beginners. The sheer number of statistics and views is difficult to manage and to use effectively.

Here's a quick way to check your backlinks (yes, their PR and anchor text too!)

If you're still not using Firefox, I will give you a very strong reason to switch immediately.

As you may know, the Google Webmaster Tools can be used to display a detail breakdown of your backlinks. But the problem is it shows no further information, meaning no PR of the linking page and no anchor text, which renders your analysis still far from complete.

Well, no worry. First get the wonderful Greasemonkey extension (if you still don't have it, you will love it on many other occasions as well). Then go straight to this Greasemonkey script and get it. When it's running visit the Google Webmaster Tools to see how the links section improved magically.

Step by step - niche site building

I've just come across a very useful write-up on building niche minisites. It is targeted rather at newbies, but is quite in-depth nevertheless and covers many aspects of this process, like:

  • finding and researching a niche
  • deciding on method of monetization
  • designing the site and generating SEO-friendly content
  • placing ads
  • hosting
  • link building

If one of your new year's resolutions was to build a niche empire, that may be a good place to start with.

Best complete affiliate manual for FREE

First of all, if you've never before heard about Andy Williams, I highly recommend that you visit his site at ezseonews.com and especially his blog, update usually on Sundays. Andy is really fantastic and shares a lot of common-sense knowledge about niche marketing, research, tools and products. He also offers some of his own products, which usually are worth having (I own some, I will write on them soon).

Today, I would like to draw you attention to one of the greatest and most comprehensive affiliate manuals ever written. Andy is the man behind this manual. The second best thing about this manual, besides it being so great, is that it is completely free and you can download it right away.

Believe me, it's not like many other free ebooks that you've seen in the past. It's the most solid, common-sense knowledge - 170 pages of it, in fact!

So, don't hesitate and get your copy here.

Quick links

A short explanation is probably in place here, as I've not posted any quick links before. I will try to direct you to some interesting and sometimes even brilliant articles, written by others, related to niche marketing, tools and making money online :-). Without further ado, here come the first two ones.

A very useful article, instructing you step by step how to mine some spam websites, ranking highly, to extract rich lists of keywords. The article says:

Google Alerts Tutorial

Amit Agarwal from Digital Inspirations posted an excellent tutorial for power-users of Google Alerts. If you don't know this service, it allows you to subscribe to email alerts, delivered whenever some new content of interest to you is crawled by Google.

Here is an excerpt:
