Here's an extremely simple tool that I developed to scrape keywords offered by the Google Suggest feature. What's cool about this tool is that it scrapes more than just the default 10 results.
The basic concept is that the script takes your root (seed) keyword and adds each letter of the alphabet, effectively generating suggestions starting with each of these letters. It means that within 1-2 seconds you can get over 200 related phrases for your root keyword.
The script also automatically displays the Google Trends chart for your root keyword.
You can click on each of the results to turn it into more focused seed keyword and get even more results.
The tool is very bare bones right now - it's actually just a framework, the very core functionality for a more advanced tool that I'm building.
It's extremely simple to use. Just launch the scraper:
Enter you seed keyword into the field and hit "Generate!"
It will usually take no longer than 1-2 seconds before you get results like this:
That's all it takes :-) Now rinse and repeat.
What I really like about this idea is that the Google Suggest feature is used by millions of people - i.e. users of the Google Toolbar. If you can rank for these keywords, you're almost guaranteed a decent level of traffic.
A much more powerful version in in the works. It will be integrated with my other keyword tool that you can read more about here.
