Better free keyword tool from Wordtracker

Even though I'm right in the middle of writing new posts for the Arbitrage series, I thought I could not miss an opportunity to let you know about the new FREE version of the keyword tool from Wordtracker.

It appears that they've revamped their free offer and it's now incredibly more useful than it used to be. There are several big differences.

First of all, you do not have to register to use it - it's available instantly.

Then, it now displays the top 100 keywords (instead of just 15) and you can dig deeper. Obviously, it's not as good as the 1000 keywords in one run that the full version offers, but it is at least as convenient as the Overture/Yahoo tool, while also being much more responsive. As for the quality of results, Wordtracker is generally known to be much more reliable than Overture.

Just give it a try - free Wordtracker tool. If you like what you see, then definitely consider switching to the full version - it will speed up your projects significantly.

Free wordtracker

It's not as good as the old free version. It just gives the demand figures and nothing on the supply side. The old version had the KEI and microsoft returned pages so you could see at a glance the potential 'good ones'.
The current version leaves a lot of work for you to do and isn't a good representative of the full version.

Well, the old free version

Well, the old free version could indeed give you the supply numbers, but they were taken either from Altavista or MSN - I can't remember now. Anyway, it was pretty much useless.

I would also argue about the general value of KEI - it can be very misleading.

But I really like that the new free version gives you 100 keywords in one pass and you can dig deeper (actually, I have a little script, which can dig deeper automatically, so can generate about 1000 keywords in a matter of seconds).

But I agree that it is still useful only if you want to perform a quick check - for any serious work, full version of Wordtracker or Keyword Discovery are pretty much recommended.
